Edges that are not level (front and rear of blades measured from each side of blade)

Studies have shown that the tolerance skate techs need to work to is a maximum of a thickness of a piece of paper between the two edges.

It is essential to check both the front and back of the blade to ensure even edges.  (The outside edge at the front of the blade could be out as shown above and rear of the blade could be out by the same amount on the inside edge.  Or the edges could be even at one end of the blade and out at the other).

The edges are even on this blade so you can not look at where the grind is positioned on the blade and assume they are either level or not

As above- level edges even though it doesn’t look like the grind is in the middle of the blade from this angle. The sides of the blades are parallel, but the grinding edge wasn’t cast level, so it gives this view.
